Challenges
Increasing the speed of compounded medications delivery
MGUH's Oncology Pharmacy needed faster delivery of compounded medications to its Infusion Department. Patients waited up to 15 minutes per prescription — and delays piled up throughout the day. A previous delivery robot proved unreliable, spending over six months out of service. It was time for a real solution.
MGUH deployed a Relay robot in March 2018 — named Fabio by the pharmacy staff. Running between the Oncology Pharmacy and Medications Room six days a week, Fabio handled deliveries so nurses could focus on patient care, not logistics. Relay also ensured bin temperatures stayed within 1.3°C of ambient — keeping every delivery safe and compliant.
